Re: @eregar 's wonderful post about Heinrix being primed to be a queer narrative, it actually made me think about how Cassia is also primed to be a queer narrative. A sheltered young woman with the weight of her family's expectations bearing down on her constantly? Her primary point of context for the world being books she managed to get her hands on that she may or may not have been allowed to read? Powers that she cannot change and did not ask for that cause even members of her household to label her as monstrous and irredeemable? The fear of expressing her emotions, and having to repress what is so core to her existence in order to be palatable to others? She leaves her home and has the first taste of freedom and now has to decide how she wants to live her life and what is important to her. That feels awful familiar to me.
I'm so looking forward to romancing her in my next playthrough, I want to learn more about her because I feel like there's a lot there that I've missed, a lot that's worth looking at

Binance Registers with FIU-IND, Pays Rs 18.8 Crore Fine to Restart Operations in India
Tumblr media
Introduction: A Major Step for Binance in India
In a significant move, Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has taken a decisive step to re-enter the Indian market. After a period of regulatory scrutiny, Binance has successfully registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit of India (FIU-IND) and paid a substantial fine of Rs 18.8 crore. This development marks Binance's commitment to complying with Indian regulations and signals a renewed focus on expanding its presence in one of the world's largest cryptocurrency markets.
Background: Regulatory Challenges and Compliance
Binance's journey in India has been fraught with challenges, primarily due to the regulatory environment surrounding cryptocurrencies. The Indian government and regulatory bodies, including the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the FIU-IND, have been cautious about the proliferation of cryptocurrencies, citing concerns over money laundering, financial stability, and consumer protection.
In recent years, several cryptocurrency exchanges have faced difficulties operating in India due to these stringent regulations. Binance, like many others, encountered hurdles in maintaining its operations in the country. However, the exchange's recent actions indicate a strategic shift towards greater compliance and collaboration with Indian authorities.
The Rs 18.8 Crore Fine: A Path to Compliance
To address the regulatory concerns and pave the way for a smooth re-entry into the Indian market, Binance agreed to pay a fine of Rs 18.8 crore. This payment is part of a broader settlement with the FIU-IND, aimed at resolving past issues related to anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) compliance.
The fine, while significant, underscores Binance's willingness to align with India's regulatory framework and operate transparently within the country's legal boundaries. By making this payment, Binance has not only settled its past issues but also demonstrated its commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance.
Registration with FIU-IND: A New Beginning
In addition to paying the fine, Binance has successfully registered with the FIU-IND, a crucial step that allows the exchange to resume its operations in India. The FIU-IND is responsible for overseeing financial transactions to prevent money laundering and terrorism financing. Registration with this agency signifies Binance's adherence to India's AML and KYC regulations, ensuring that the platform operates in a secure and compliant manner.
This registration is a critical milestone for Binance, as it enables the exchange to offer its services to Indian users with greater confidence and regulatory backing. It also positions Binance as a compliant and responsible player in the Indian cryptocurrency ecosystem, potentially paving the way for further growth and expansion.
Impact on the Indian Cryptocurrency Market
Binance's re-entry into India is likely to have a significant impact on the country's cryptocurrency landscape. As one of the largest and most influential exchanges globally, Binance's presence in India will offer Indian users access to a wide range of cryptocurrency services, including trading, staking, and decentralized finance (DeFi) products.
Furthermore, Binance's commitment to compliance may encourage other cryptocurrency exchanges operating in India to follow suit, leading to a more regulated and secure market environment. This could, in turn, foster greater trust among Indian investors and drive further adoption of cryptocurrencies in the country.
Looking Ahead: Binance's Strategy in India
With its registration with FIU-IND and the resolution of past regulatory issues, Binance is poised to expand its operations in India. The exchange is likely to focus on building partnerships with local financial institutions, launching new products tailored to the Indian market, and investing in educational initiatives to raise awareness about cryptocurrencies.
Binance's strategy in India will also likely involve close collaboration with regulators to ensure continued compliance and to contribute to the development of a robust regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies. As the Indian government continues to deliberate on the future of cryptocurrencies, Binance's proactive approach may serve as a model for other players in the industry.
Conclusion: A New Chapter for Binance in India
Binance's registration with FIU-IND and the payment of the Rs 18.8 crore fine mark the beginning of a new chapter for the exchange in India. By aligning with Indian regulations and demonstrating its commitment to compliance, Binance is well-positioned to regain the trust of Indian users and play a leading role in the country's growing cryptocurrency market. As the landscape evolves, Binance's presence in India is likely to drive innovation, adoption, and growth in the cryptocurrency sector, benefiting both the industry and its users.

Hi, i was wondering if you could give some insight on to how Warhammer 40K naming conventions work? I have been searching and i have found really confusing info, so if you could help i would be really grateful.😭
Hi anon! Yeah I feel you, I was a bit lost at first. Honestly I can't give you a "100% Warhammer 40k" answer because what I did was look for real life name affixes, look into names that pop up in WH40k lore, and names specifically in Rogue Trader.
This page here was a good start.
Through this link it was a bit easier to understand the use of "van" and "von" (taken from Dutch and German affixes):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This led me to assumption one: While "van" can be for anyone (just like Heinrix became van Calox after being disowned), "von" might be restricted to nobility, specially on the level of a Rogue Trader (von Valancius).
The use of "van" doesn't seem limited to a sector, it can be for anything that is relevant to the character's originated location. You could probably use a Voidship's name for a voidborn.
Then we got "af". Theodora is Theodora von Valancius Massimo af Scarus, an Imperial Sector. A Noble!RT is [Name] Aeos Venria de Vahl af Calixis, another Imperial Sector. In both of these and in other instances, it shows up at the end of the name structure. It also seems to be limited for nobility, based on the characters it appears.
Because Cerys does not come from a known Sector but rather a binary star system, I noticed that some of these people had a planet name right after their name (even if they have "af" at the end).
Faisal Rykadi ab Medineh af Koronus
Vistenza Janus Vyatt ab Aram af Koronus
This got me to assumption two: I don't know if Rykadi was intentional from Rykad, but I enjoyed the idea that it indicates a system origin. So my personal twist came to be and I added "Tallarni" for Cerys Tallarni, to indicate her origins due to lack of a proper Sector, without using "van".
Both these names also make use of "ab", which seems to be patronymic in some cultures:
Tumblr media
Assumption number three: Medineh and Aram are probably the founding fathers of these people's respective families. It also shows after the System Origin and what seems to be just a surname.
All of this craziness seems to be most common among nobility. A lot of other characters, even ones who ascended to nobility, have a pretty normal name structure. Abelard Werserian, CrimeLord!RT being Stubbs, Militarum!RT being Scipio-Grimald, etc. So honestly, just do what your heart desires.
Cerys for example was simply Cerys Scipio Al-Rachad before becoming Rogue Trader, since the patronymic "Al-" shows up in some Tallarn Desert Raider characters and matches the ethnic inspiration.
So I guess the break down I settled on was:
[Name] [System/Planet] [Surname] [Patronymic] [Dynasty/Family] [Origin/Sector]
Cerys Tallarni Scipio ab Rachad von Valancius
Which is still not perfect because Theodora, for example, does not follow that by having von Valancius right after her name, though I suppose it could just mean she was born directly into the dynasty.
As a side note and complete headcanon, I like the idea that van Sector might work for Imperium Servants who were disowned, like Heinrix, just like Westerosi give bastards a surname by region. So by joining the ranks of the Inquisition and not just being a regular joe anymore, he got van Calox for maybe working in the Calixis Sector, or by being there when that promotion happened.

I just want to thank you very much for your addition to the Neo-Khuzdul list of Personal Pronouns for Non-Binary folk like myself! Until now I've been referring to my character as Zigilhû, using the hû to refer to them as an it, and I was more than happy enough to work with that. But the addition of khi has made me absolutely ecstatic. I'm perhaps feeling entirely too emotional for this, but thank you so very much for your consideration, you wonderful person!
Well met, friend!
Your message truly warmed this old scholar’s heart. Thank you so much for your kind words — and please know: you are not “too emotional” for feeling seen. Language, after all, is not just about structure and grammar — it’s also about identity, recognition, and belonging. If the addition of “khi” brought that feeling a little closer to home for you, then I am both honoured and humbled.
Your use of hû in the past makes perfect sense — and indeed, in most cases, it’s the correct form when referring to objects or concepts that are grammatically gender-free in Neo-Khuzdul. For example:
“The fabric’s colour is red. Red is its colour.” Neked ankhâdhu baraz. Baraz ankhâdhu.
In such instances, where we’re referring to something that is neither gendered nor personified, hû remains the right choice. But what about when the reference is not to an object, but to a person whose gender is not specified — or deliberately not assigned?
That’s precisely where khi steps in.
⚙️ On the Creation of “Khi”
Neo-Khuzdul, like many conlangs built on Semitic roots, often lacked overt gendering outside of clear male/female distinctions. Tolkien himself didn’t assign grammatical gender to Khuzdul nouns (even the Elvish languages do not have a grammatical gender, i.e. there is for example no gender agreement between noun and adjective or definite article and noun), and I’ve followed that principle closely — deliberately avoiding the addition of gender markers unless absolutely necessary.
You might be surprised to hear that Neo-Khuzdul includes 136 distinct pronoun forms (though granted, many similar or near-identical ones) — and at first glance, that number might seem excessive. But in truth, it’s quite natural for a well-developed language. Even English, which often seems simpler, has dozens of pronoun forms once you account for cases (subjective, objective, possessive), number (singular/plural), gender, and reflexivity — not to mention formal or informal tone. Neo-Khuzdul simply makes these distinctions more explicit and organized, especially across levels of respect, gender, and grammatical roles. Once you understand the system, it becomes remarkably consistent.
Tumblr media
Overview of all Neo-Khuzdul Pronouns
However, I also recognized that language needs to evolve to meet the needs of its speakers — fictional or otherwise. And so “khi” was introduced years ago as a third-person singular pronoun that could be used in situations where:
The person’s gender is unknown
The person’s gender is irrelevant
The person’s gender is non-binary
Or when one wishes to speak inclusively (e.g. in laws, oaths, or ceremonial speech)
It parallels the English “one” or “they,” but without the formality often associated with “one” in modern English. In fact, I encourage users to think of it as equivalent to “his/her” or “a person’s” rather than overthinking its tone.
“A trader must polish his/her items.” Usjar tabtisi mat fakâtkhi.
In the sentence above, usjar (trader) is gender-free, and khi comfortably occupies the same role as “his/her” — without implying either.
🧭 What About a Gender-Neutral 2nd Person?
For second-person non-binary reference, Neo-Khuzdul uses za. It follows the same case logic as other 2nd person pronouns — with full declension visible in the reference chart:
za – nominative/accusative
-za – genitive determiner (your)
aza – genitive pronoun (yours)
zefsa – reflexive (yourself)
duza – lative (to you / you have)
So if you’re ever referring to yourself or another person in the second person, za and its forms are your go-to.
🔁 When to Use Khi, Hû, or Za
Tumblr media
🔧 A Work in Progress — But A Work for All
It’s important to note that gender-neutral forms in Neo-Khuzdul are not an afterthought. They are part of a living structure, built to support anyone who wants to engage with the language and culture of the Dwarves. You — and everyone like you — belong in these halls of stone.
Thank you again, truly. If this project has offered even a small sense of representation, then it’s done something worthwhile. I’m thrilled that “khi” found its place not just in the language, but with you.
Ever at your service, The Dwarrow Scholar

Various head canons from basically everything, because I feel like it. (DC, marvel, Doom, darkwood, mgs, wh40k)
Jason todd is a POC with PTSD and medicated depression. The white streak in his hair was actually just from a mixture of Lazarus pit and stress. Also, possibly the least autistic member of the bat family next to dick. Almost all of them are on the spectrum some are just lower.
Damian Wayne is autistic with low empathy and on the aro/ace spectrum.
Bruce Wayne is also autistic with high empathy but not very talkative. He is also bisexual.
Tim Drake has accidentally reinvented meth trying to stay up even longer to do hero work. He didn't get to try it for obvious reasons. Also, ADHD.
Adam warlock feels hot to the touch but not enough to hurt and also is pan because I say so.
The punisher is on the aro/ace spectrum. Lower on the aro side tho.
Gwenpool is autistic. Nuff said.
Shuri should never meet peter parker under any circumstances or they will be best friends and it will be everyone else's problem.
Captain America is bi. And a power bottom.
Bucky is gay as shit, or at least queer. He is overprotective towards his super soldier boyfriend Steve Rogers.
Tony is a bisexual but with such a leaning towards women that it barely meets the requirements.
Miles Morales carries an extra meal on him at all times. He and his family survived their universe dying because he gave molecule man a 8 year old burger. He is going to bring and extra sandwich just in case.
Doom Guy is on the aro/ace spectrum, and has low level autism with high empathy (not to demons tho) and... Just basically being entirely nonverbal. He knows asl.
Wolfman is a racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, everythingaphobic psychopath. And also bisexual, though he would never actually figure that out. He is also a cannibal.
The stranger is pan and ace, and so is the trader because it's basically the forest's clone of him. They are also both a little non-binary because I say so.
Hatsune Miku and venom snake would be best friends. Because I say so
All of the snakes are bisexual and autistic. (Solid and otacon, big boss and kaz, venom and ocelot, and liquid and solidus get no bitches)
Caiaphas Cain is a military savant with impostor syndrome, and also very, very low on the aromatic spectrum.

people using chris fleming skits as an attempted takedown towards a trans woman AMAB is so weird considering the dude has a skit where he equates women = AFAB (which sucked the fun outta the whole thing for me as a not-AFAB woman who Can see the strange chocolate covered snacks at Trader Joe’s, actually) so maybe anon could. pick a different comedian dig lol
jeezy weezy anon I was gonna say "he is himself non-binary so I think he just unintentionally fell into the cissexist comedy trope trap" but I went to watch it myself and was having a good time until he said 'every AFAB in the building' like WHAT? WHAT? WHAT CHRIS FLEMMING? CHRIS FLEMMING WHAT?

On that Assassin's Apprentice retumble:
The Fitz and the Fool books were HUGE to me (don't make me look up what we're calling the series now, it's too complicated - I mean the whole thing). Bear in mind I hadn't even HEARD the word 'non-binary' when I read the first 3 trilogies.
So 18 year-old me is reading this book leant to her by her kind-of-sexist friend (bear in mind, just about everybody was by today's intersectional feminist standards, and, yeah, it was distressing to go to uni and find that everyone was Still Like That; he was slightly more so than others, but hey, at least he never sexually harassed me!) and I was excited by the diverse gender roles on display, although I worried that Fitz was a bit stereotypically macho. And the friend was like: what? No. I found him weirdly feminine! And I am like:
Tumblr media
You mean the guy who fights with an axe and gets, like, blood rage, and blood lust and runs about with a wolf and is constantly working out and fighting people? That guy?
And he was like, yeah, he's so emotional!
Tumblr media
You mean, he has depression, on account of his fucked up life, which we only know about because we're inside his head, because he literally never talks about his feelings to anyone, until he just explodes suddenly and kind of scares people??
And anyway, I think this guy was more bothered by women being in the guard and generally allowed to not be feminine (while some definitely were!) and was looking for stuff to object to about Fitz, but it was the first example of many things that cis people have said about these books that angered and confused me.
Years later, when Fool's Fate came out, I was at the house of a friend who also loved these books and she was like (vague spoiler), 'Well, at least we finally got an answer about what gender the Fool is.
Tumblr media
(This is about the fact that Fitz briefly embodies the Fool's body and still treats him as male.) And I was like... I do not read that passage the same way as you. At all. I hope Hobb never commits to saying what the Fool 'really' is.
My friend did not understand this.
Neither of us had heard the term non-binary yet, but I was clearly yearning to read the Fool that way and she was clearly glad to have something she could read as settling the matter in favour of a single, binary gender.
And now, in the fullness of time, with the latest trilogy, it's not just confirmed, but we have another non-binary character, one who is clearly genderfliud and uses different pronouns much more liberally than the Fool. And Chade is much more clearly acknowledged as purposefully cross-dressing (I don't personally read him as a trans woman, but it is clear that he enjoyed wearing women's clothes and appearing as a woman and it wasn't just to spy; he might be an egg that doesn't crack until very, very late in life, but I prefer to read him as the kind of non-binary that wasn't able to express themselves fully until so late that they don't really know what they are, but they're relieved to finally just live as themselves). I mean, you can't see him emerging from that very long, shadowed life where he literally lived within the walls, suddenly situated in the context of a bunch of gay and non-binary people, without seeing this as a kind of metaphor for coming out of the closet. (I mean, you can, because I only just articulated it to myself, but now it just seems so obvious.)
Meanwhile, my cis friends are just taking Fitz's obvious homophobia and cis-sexism at face value, as if he wasn't a classic unreliable narrator, whose whole life has been about lying - especially to himself!
And then we have the blogger dude in the early years of Twitter who used to read my book reviews and showed up to say that he'd noticed that all the women he knew preferred the first trilogy over the Rainwild Traders stuff, and he thought those were objectively better books, and it was interesting that women preferred the book with the male protagonist, and it someone should really do a study on that and I... just...
Tumblr media
You, a white cis het man, noticed that everyone you know (who happen to be female) who has read these books, prefers the first trilogy, and... and... THEY ARE THE ONES WHO SHOULD BE STUDIED FOR BEING WEIRD??? IT COULD NOT POSSIBLY BE THAT YOU ARE THE OUTLIER????
Tumblr media
I no longer talk to the first friend. I will forever be indebted to him for introducing him to the books, but he was a sexist ass-hat.
The second now sees herself as a huge trans ally and seems completely unaware that she's been one of the least supportive friends I have stayed in contact with.
The blogger dude I unfollowed long ago.
So, yeah, these books meant a lot to me before I could even fully articulate WHY. And yet cis people have been able to read them and completely explain away or negate what Hobb was doing with gender, because it didn't fit their world views, so they could carry on projecting their biological essentialist fantasies onto books that really are very clear that that is not what is going on.
Anyway, I don't think you can read those books now and understand the experience of what it was like to read them in the 90s and 00s, as they came out. Maybe a modern youngster would be annoyed that the Fool isn't canonically confirmed as non-binary earlier, IDK, but a lot of us just did not have the LANGUAGE to state this stuff that plainly back then. I certainly didn't.
And tbh, having found books that didn't tacitly assume gender essentialism, I have found it much harder to trust that new books will be as refreshingly safe as I found Hobb's.
